Overview:

The first phase of Operation Dragoon, the paratroop and glider landings of the First Airborne Task Force, was accomplished without serious incident. C Company, 6th (Royal Welch) Battalion of the British 2nd Independent Parachute Brigade was tasked with securing Clastron Farm near Le Muy. While waiting for more paratroopers to assemble, Sergeant Thomas of the Intelligence Section brought in a prisoner that provided valuable information. The farm was being held by approximately 100 Germans. A patrol was sent to the farm and the confirmed this intelligence. Company C moved to clear the farm but came under heavy machine-gun fire. The British were slowed in their advance. At about 0920, the gliders of the second lift started to arrive. A little off course and ninety minutes late, the American 3rd Platoon, 512th Signal Company landed near Clastron Farm.
