Overview:
The Soviet Thirty Second Army attacked into North Karelia. They were initially successful, pushing Finnish forces back to the 1940 border. However, the Finnish 21st Brigade had conducted a fighting withdrawal, and with the Karelian Isthmus stabilized, reinforcements were sent to help the 21st Brigade. Strengthened, the Finns launched a counterattack on 31 July, and by 3 August, both the 176th and 289th Rifle Divisions were trapped in The Last Motti of the war.Attacker: Russian (Elements of 3rd Naval Infantry Brigade)
