Overview:

The Russians had reached the VKT Line, but the Finns continued to hold the bridgehead on the south bank of the Vuoski River. This bridgehead on the heights of Ayrapaa held out for days but on 7 July were eventually forced to withdraw to the north bank. The Russians were able to force a crossing of the Vuoski, and created a bridgehead on the north bank. In response the Lagus Armored Division was rushed to the area. The Finns had gone from defending fortified lines to conducting combined arms maneuver tactics to block the Russian advance. The bridgehead was contained, but on 12 July the Russians conducted an all-out attack to expand it.

Brotell was KIA'd when his STUG moved up into a woods location to control the center. He bogged and a T-34/85 got a lucky hit and kill. The Russians would lose 6 of the 8 tanks. But at the end, the other 2 STUGs were CE and using their AA machine guns. The Russian infantry rolled a bund of snakes, which pinned one STUG and then the other STUG rolled boxcars and was recalled. That was game and a Russian victory.
