Overview:
The UN forces had captured Pyongyang and were moving towards the Yalu River trying to reunify Korea and end the war. Chinese leadership decided to intervene in the conflict. On 19 October, units of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army (CPVA)-300,000 strong-crossed the Yalu and moved into the mountainous and forested areas of North Korea. Unaware of the danger, the Republic of Korea (ROK) 2nd Infantry Regiment, 6th Infantry Division continued its advance toward the Chinese border along the mountain road between Onjong and Pukchin, where the CPVA 118th Division lay in wait.Attacker: Chinese (352nd Regiment, 118th Division, 40th Corps)
