Overview:
While the Germania Brigade was attacking Shanderovka to the north, General Stemmermann ordered that Novo Buda also be taken. This village from its position on the ridge controlled the valley to the south. The General ordered one of his army units to take this village, the 105th Panzer Grenadier Regiment. They moved across country through the Soviet lines and attacked Novo Buda at night. The night attack was very successful and they caught many Soviets sleeping, but now Major Kastner faced the inevitable Soviet counter attack while mopping up the southern part of Novo Buda.Attacker: Russian (11th Cavalry Division, 5th Guards Cavalry Army)
