Overview:
As the German army retreated through Tunisia hotly pursued by both the US II Corps and the British under Montgomery, Rommel was determined to make the Allies pay dearly for every yard. Each small village was held by rearguard units whose orders were simply to slow the Allied advance as much as possible. Outside Mateur one such action occurred with US advance troops desperately trying to capture a rural hamlet with armored support. Unfortunately for them a German HQ unit decided to intervene with a lone Tiger tank and a couple of AA trucks rushing to reinforce the village.Attacker: American (Advance elements of US II Corps)
