Overview:
After abandoning the Thermopylae area, the British rear guards withdrew to an improvised position south of Thebes, where they erected a last obstacle in front of Athens. Named the “24 Hour Pass” by the defending 4th New Zealanders, their job was a simple one. In order to facilitate the evacuation of other Commonwealth troops, they were to hold off the advancing 2nd Panzer Division until morning, then join in the retreat out of Greece.Attacker: German (Elements of 2nd Panzer Division)
