Overview:
The Bulgarian 1st Assault Gun Battalion took part in the advance on Biala Palanka and the attack on Nish in early October. Many lessons were learned during these advances including the fact that the assault guns were not supported with enough infantry. Therefore, the battalions were reorganized with closer support by infantry from the 14th Infantry Regiment. These lessons were put to good use in the assault on Poduevo when the assault guns and infantry worked well in concert. However, things did not go well as Russian pilots strafed and bombed the Bulgarians also, apparently out of confusion over the use of German vehicles by allied troops.Attacker: Bulgarian (19th Infantry Regiment and 1st Assault Gun Battalion)
