Overview:

The reverse suffered by the French army at the hands of the Japanese aggression led the new Thai government to strongly reaffirm its intention to reintegrate Laos and Cambodia into the motherland. The state of latent war came to a sudden end on 10 January 1941 when the Thai Army went on the offensive. On Colonial Road 1, the main artery in Cambodia, the attack was strong and the French troops had to fall back in order to establish a more solid defensive line. Despite appearances, the French high command had made arrangements for just such an occurrence and it ordered an immediate counterattack on the Thai Army’s left flank.

2023-01-08(D) Vic Lauterbach vs JM French winThis meeting engagement is challenging for both sides. The early turns went badly. My forward platoon was flanked and wiped out, but my main French force whittled down Jim's attackers. Their lower ELR makes it tough to rally them especially those that turn into broken conscripts. The tanks got around the 25LL in a roadblock position, but I pushed the gun back and knocked out all three as they tried to get out of LOS (the 81 MTR immobilized one). The FB only managed one pin in all its strafing. Neither sniper was a factor. Jim's comments: Exiting the tanks isn't worth the risk of losing them; the 15 CVP they're worth made the difference. Give the Thais the balance. The final tally was Thai 15 CVP + 10 exit VP + 18 double exit VP = 43, French 32 CVP + 26 exit VP = 58

2020-05-23(D) Shane Pask vs French winGreat fun. Never knew who was winning with the game going back and forth. I scored total victory in the south but the North was a tie. French won CVP but Thai won "Exit" VP - 2 tanks in double points zone helps. Final VP French 60, Thai 47.
The AT broke after 2 shots and was disabled. The 81 MTR scored a CH on an AFV with no effect then broke (still malf at game end). Then the ATR managed to shock one tank with an eventual wreck - this was the difference between the win and a loss.
French reduced Thai SAN to 2 and the Thais lost a couple of CC they should have won (Concealed squads ambush a HS and he walks, 3 squads attack a wounded leader and he walks (Thais roll boxcars)
