Overview:

At Hervorst, a village slightly north of Goch that was also part of the Siegfried line, a company of Camerons bumped up against several enormous pillboxes. They had concrete walls 3-feet thick and were cleverly camouflaged under dirt and grass, with only gun slits showing. Each pillbox contained a 150mm gun, which the Camerons needed to silence. Commander Major Donald Callander had an array of armor support available to assist with the assault.

2023-02-04(A) Vic Lauterbach vs JM British winI drew the Brits and spread my force out to (hopefully) prevent heavy losses from the rocket OBA. That sort of worked. It killed two Churchills and clobbered an infantry stack in J4. After that, things improved. Having to split up to attack both pillboxes was tricky, but both fell easier than I expected. Having one Croc keep its FT working the entire time was huge. Jim: The German force is brittle, so the OBA has to hit hard. Very few chances to use a PF, and my mortar OBA observer had to keep moving. Give the Germans the balance.

2011-12-28(A) Andy Beaton vs German winEffective rocket OBA and PsK fire hammered my armour early on, and my infantry couldn't pass an MC to save their lives. Thanks to AVRE's and a Croc, I took 2 bunkers and a building and was contesting one more at the end, but I ran out of time and infantry. I did get to see a CH with a Petard on a bunker, which was fun.
2009-07-08(D) nathan wegener vs Peter W German winA screening force acted as an effective delay. Then as the Brits closed ranks the mortar fire broke up the central attack. The Germans regrouped and attacked the first bunker en masse only to find an HS with the PSK. DFF took out the lead AVRE, the following movement phase I moved adjacent and created a hero which took the shreck as his mates started to burn from a Croc FT. The hero took out a Churchill and the Croc which caused by opponent to fail his NMC realizing he was out of time and AFV.
