Introduction:

This module focuses on the fighting around the village of Flesquieres on the first day of the First Battle of Cambrai, November 20th, 1917, when the advance of the 51st Highland Division was stopped as its supporting tanks were almost all knocked-out by German gunners positioned near the village. The Germans evacuated Flesquieres over but they had inflicted a fatal delay on the British advance which disrupted the entire offensive.
