Overview:

At 0630 parts of the Infanterie-Division 170 and Schützen-Brigade (mot.) reached the outskirts of Bredevad, a hamlet just north of the German-Danish border. Here at the crossroads of Bredevad itself. a company of the Danish 4th Bicycle Battalion had hurriedly dispatched to set up a roadblock before the Germans could arrive to seize the intersection. They managed to reach the crossroads moments before the armored cars of Schützen-Brigade (mot.) appeared.

2025-06-29(A) Craig Renier vs Tony Fermendzin Danish winThe German main force attempted to attack the Danish right while a smaller force approached from the left. With so much open ground, the Danish -2 shots took their toll. As time ticked away, the Germans became more brash with the armored cars which eventually fell victim to the Danish guns or small arms. All was not lost. On the final turn the German AFV took position on one of the crossroads in motion hoping to survive any CC on the Danish final turn. But there was no need for CC. While one Gun was captured and the other malf'd, a LMG was able to immobilize the AFV on the final Danish Prep Fire, giving them the win.
2025-04-24(A) M van Houte vs Sam H. German winAs many others have said, a pretty dicey affair. That's true of most small scenarios, but here it's exacerbated by the German PzII coming on on Turn 4. No matter how things have gone till then, the German player is always in with a chance to simply drive it, BU, into the VC hexes on the last turn, stay in Motion, and hope for good luck. Which is exactly what happened in our game. On turns 3 and 4, my (German) dice were crazy bad (averaging a whopping 8.94 average on 16 IFT rolls, e.g.) and the infantry attack was completely stymied, and the other three AFVs were destroyed by a bunch of low rolls. Didn't matter, cause I held back the PzII on turn 4, then charged it into the VC hexes on turn 5. My turn to get lucky, as the two pop-guns and CC could not get him: German win. We didn't mind a close, last turn CC decider in itself (that is actually as much as you could hope for), but rather the fact that whatever the Danish (or German) player does earlier in the game, this endgame is more or less inevitable, taking away from the agency of the players. It feels a bit like playing a game of football (the real football, aka soccer by some) and then, whatever the result, having a all-decisive penalty shoot-out at the end.
2025-04-10(D) Claus Jakobsen vs Peter Albrechtsen Danish win2.5 hrs
2025-03-31(A) David Ramsey vs Martin Barker Danish win3 hrsFelt tough on the Germans but a lack of coordination on my side didn't help!
2025-03-29(A) Craig Renier vs Jim Liang Danish winThe Germans attacked in two groups, initially moving forward quickly with help from good sD rolls. But the open ground required the Germans to frequently take -2 attacks from the Dutch. Losses slowly mounted while time quickly passed. The Germans took progressively riskier moves with the expected increased losses. Frustrated by the failure to break Dutch units (26 IFT rolls, with only 8 MCs and only 1 of those failed), the German reinforcement charged one of the Dutch AT guns located in a building covering the crossroads. The AFV was only able to pin the crew while the AT gun immobilized the AFV. This left only one German AC to position itself in the crossroads. The AC car suffered Shock on Turn 5 leaving the win for the Dutch.
