Overview:

On the 26th of January, the US/PA forces on the Bataan Peninsula had to fall back to the Orion-Bagac Line, their last line of defense. This line was thinly held and on the night of the 28-29, General Kimura's 20th Infantry Regiment finally found a gap in the depleted 1st PA Division's line of defense. The 20th IR established two pockets behind the US line at 400 and 1000 meters from the main defense line. Instead of crumbling, the defensive line reformed behind the Japanese infiltrators, who became entrapped and encircled. On the 6th of February, the 2nd Battalion, 33rd Infantry, was ordered to attack down Trail 7 to rescue the larger pocket. The attack began late on the 6th.
