Overview:

In an attempt to break the American lines in Bataan, the Japanese made several small seaborne assaults at the end of January and the beginning of February 1942 along the west coast of the Peninsula. These assaults were known as "The Battles of the Point." The beachhead at Silaiim Point suffered the same fate as the other beachheads and was slowly annihilated by the US/PA forces. But before his end, Major Kimura, commanding the Japanese forces at Silaiim Point, made one last attempt to break out. At dawn on the 12th of February, with about two hundred men, he launched a counterattack against the 2nd Battalion, 45th Infantry Regiment (Philippine Army), through a 100-yard-wide gap found in the defensive line, between E and F Companies.
Attacker: Japanese (2nd Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment)
Defender: Philippine (2nd Battalion, 45th Infantry Regiment (Philippine Army) and Command Post, 17th Pursuit and F Company with 3rd Battalion, 57th Infantry Regiment, Philippine Scouts)
