Overview:

The small garrison of Fusilier Marins of the Cap Gris-Nez coastal artillery battery were assigned the mission of interdicting the road from Calais to Boulogne. The garrison organized a small blockade next to a windmill at the village of Adinghern, one kilometer from the cape. They were reinforced by over 100 French stragglers and also by an AMD 35 armored car with gear problems. Early on the morning of 24 May, elements of Panzer-Division 10 appeared.

2024-03-06(D) S. Slunt vs Andy Beaton French winVery exciting game. The big turning point came when the Germans did an overrun of a foxhole of a concealed French half squad with a DC. The Overrun failed but the DC turned the Panzer into a smoking wreck With that gone he had to go for the buildings and came up short with 4 building points.

2023-04-14(D) Jonathan Plott vs Ed Fritz, Jr German winPlayed this at the Recent Bitter Ender 2023 Tournament in Raliegh. After a partially successful delaying action (that had play extend WAY past midnight), a German attack on one of the key VC buildings put the issue in doubt. An ineffective French counterattack sealed the victory for the Bosche, I conceded after 6 turns. Great game, Ed!
2023-04-06(A) Andy Bagley vs Mike Grogan German winVery good scenario, we both really enjoyed it. I struggled to figure out how to attack, and eventually decided to come from the East through the village, as the alternative western flank attack just looked too exposed. This meant I had to take the three easternmost victory buildings AND get at least 27 exit VPs off the board. However, it avoided early casualties as I can either occupy buildings or move out of LOS of the big gun.
That French off-board gun is crucial here, and despite the extra range it still gets decent TH numbers (it's an L gun). So much so that I eventually decided to exit two AFVs in order to silence it (part of the SSR). This failed however when one tank was immobilised by an LMG shot while my halftrack bogged trying to cross a hedge. However, my luck changed when the French gun malf'd, never to return. I was further aided by a lucky sniper shot that broke the defender in a victory building. This allowed me to swarm forward on the penultimate turn, and then exit just enough VPs to win on the final turn. In the end I was quite surprised that I won!
