Overview:
In the afternoon of 12 July, the Soviet command decided to put the 32nd Motorized Rifle Brigade into the battle. It received the order to rush into Vasilyevka supported by the 141st Tank Brigade. This could put the Totenkopf bridgehead on the Psel in great danger. The German reaction was therefore very fast, made with the SS Panzergrenadier Regiment "T. Eicke", supported by TK StuG Abteilung. As the Soviets moved toward the village center, they were met by strong resistance around the church. The Soviet force was eventually repulsed by Germans, eventhough this sector was the last to have the fighting end.Attacker: Russian (181st Tank Brigade and 32nd Motorized Rifle Brigade, 18th Tank Corps, 5th Guards Tank army and 42 Gds Rifle Div)
