Overview:
The KPA plan for the attack against Taegu demanded that the 10th Division make a coordinated attack with the 3rd Division, from the west and southwest respectively. The 10th Division, so far untested in combat, was ordered to cross the Naktong River in the vicinity of Tuksong-dong, penetrate east, and cut the main supply route of the UN troops from Pusan to Taegu. Assembling in the Koryong area on 11 August, the division's first unit to cross was 2nd Battalion, 29th Regiment, which waded across undetected in the early hours of 12 August, right into the sector of 7th Cavalry's 2nd Battalion.Attacker: North Korean (2nd Battalion, 29th Regiment)
