Overview:
On November 19, 1942, The Red Army launched Operation Uranus to surround Axis forces around Stalingrad. Once the defenses of the 3rd Romanian Army were pierced, the 1st and 26th Tank Corps of the 5th Tank Army marched towards Kalatch and its bridge over the Don. They were followed by the 8th Cavalry Corps and the 8th Regiment of Motorcyclists of the Guard charged to seize the village of Oblivskaia, on the Chir river. They traveled for two days before being able to launch themselves, with favorable mist and the confusion reigning in the enemy. The commander of the 8th Regiment then divided it into five detachments, which were targeted on Romanian depots, aerodromes and service units.Attacker: Russian (Detachement du 8th Regiment Motorcycliste de la Garde)
