Overview:

As the defenses of southern Norway crumbled before the German onslaught, a group of young Swedish men decided to try their luck and help their neighbors. Led by Conny Andersson, a veteran of the Spanish Civil War, the group crossed the border in late April. They met large groups of Norwegian refugees heading for Sweden. Some of the refugees decided to join the Swedes. After crossing a few mountains, the band reached the village of Selbu. It had already been claimed by a German patrol, but as there were no soldiers present, the Scandinavians decided that this was a suitable place to make a stand. The German garrison in the nearby village of Elveran begged to differ.

2025-10-31(D) Martí Cabré vs Josep Maria Cassani Swedish/Norwegian win3 hrsThe German attack on Turn 1 should have been more aggressive and take the center bridge. They crossed the bridge on Turn 2 and a lucky K/1 from a Swede defender caused their only loss of the game, but then another German squad got in Melee with another Swede for two turns losing some time, and causing the only Swede lose of the game. The German vehicles advanced through the road on Turn 4, but the Norwegian reinforcements had already arrived and the German infantry got pinned through the road, making it impossible to reach the line in Turn 5. In general it is a little tough for the Germans as they need to push hard since Turn 1 and hope for bad defending rolls. The vehicles should clear the road ahead to locate the HIP Norwegians and to stop the reinforcements, and the infantry should run behind them. But it is short and nice to play.
2025-04-12(A) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin Swedish/Norwegian winA tough battle for the Germans which can easily be decided on a lucky roll by the defender. The middle bridge is the obvious choice to attack, although the stream hexes can be entered and crossed, it provides the defender a lot of time to re-route troops should they need to. The addition of HIP units makes the German victory condition that much harder to achieve.

Needs to have at least one more squad for the Germans, or perhaps slightly fewer defenders...

2023-06-21(A) Shane Pask vs Swedish/Norwegian winA bit dicey in favour of the Swedes. I got 2 1/2 squads to the K row by turn 5. 1 1/2 were safe. The last squad was concealed but a 4+1 shot generated a 1MC which the leader passed and the squad failed - game over.
