Overview:
After liberating the Moabit Prison, and their depleted ranks filled by freed prisoners thirsty for revenge, the 756th Rifle Regiment continued to push through the Moabit district towards the Spree River. They encountered scattered but desperate resistance from the Berlin Volkssturm and the 9th Fallschirmjager Division. The lead troops fought block by block, bringing up heavy artillery and assault guns to blast any building suspected of containing Nazi troops with point blank direct fire.Attacker: Russian (756th Rifle Regiment, 79th Rifle Corps)
