Overview:
At 0200 hours a voice called out of the pitch darkness and identified itself as an "American lieutenant´. The voice called out the positions of the Fox Company perimeter, and further added, eerily “…the Chinese will give you warm clothes, and good treatment, if you surrender now.” Many Marines fired their ´answers´ out of the barrels of their guns, off into the darkness. Within thirty minutes, Chinese bugles and horns started blowing, flares went up into the night sky and Marine machine-guns laid down fire lanes in the expected avenues of attack...Attacker: Communist Chinese (Elements of 59th Infantry Division, 9th CCF Army)
