Overview:
The initial German infantry attack in the Krinkelt-Rocherath sector hit all along the line of the 1st Battalion, 393rd Infantry Regiment, overwhelming two platoons of Company C. Battalion CO, Major Legler, desperately requested reinforcement. The only available force was a regimental Anti-Tank Company, led by Lt. Harry Parker. Parker and his ad-hoc force moved up the main supply road toward the International Highway where they too advantage of a dense forest to creep close to the lead German troops. Parker then ordered his men to fix bayonets. Together they charged, screaming war whoops as they went, which made them sound like a much larger force.Attacker: American (393rd Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division)
