Overview:

Stalingrad was already an inferno. Interdiction of the docks along the Volga had become an imperative for the Germans and the Russians were prepared to make them fight tooth and nail for every square inch of land. On the morning of 14 September, with stormtrooper and armor support, the German 6th Army attacked with everything they had and Regiment 271 led the way. They immediately encountered the highly fortified depot, which the 62nd Guards were using as their HQ. The slaughter continued. . . .

2022-08-06(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German winTurn 1 was tough on the Germans as they moved to the building and took some losses. By Turn 3 , the Russians were pretty well surrounded, smoked and going down to significant German firepower. As the Russians, I was hit with +4 morale checks repeatedly despite have +4 fortified building TEM. That says a bit about the scenario in my opinion. If you're the Russian player...say your prayers and see how long you last before you concede. 7 Turns is too long for such a small battle space and gives the Germans more than ample time to move safely into position and just drop kick the Russkies into loser land.

Played as round 4 of the Virtual Nor'Easter - COVID 19 Edition.
2020-02-16(D) Teddy Horan vs German German winWhen I saw that this scenario took place on the VotG map I jumped at the chance to play it. What a fast, claustrophobic urban bloodbath. The Germans had little difficulty approaching the Depot with all the railcars and rubble blocking line of sight. Some well placed AP mines caused some difficulty for his DC-equipped 548's hoping to breach the building. What a challenge an NKVD Strongpoint presents to the Germans. But alas, superior German firepower blasted my guys out of their fortifications and the Germans advanced in. A couple turns of Factory fighting ensued with my Commissar and NKVD squad still holding on but the writing was on the wall. Russian surrender on German Turn 6.
