Overview:
The Soviet army was at the gates of Germany. After a terrible preparation of artillery, the 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian Fronts with 44 divisions, 800 tanks and 3000 guns rushed on Prussia defended by the 3rd Panzer Army composed of 9 weakened divisions, 50 tanks and 400 guns. But the Germans had planned against an attack in this area for a long time. Six fortified defense lines had been established and the advanced positions had been evacuated just before the Soviet artillery barrage. The losses were therefore insignificant. The Germans resisted, repelling waves of soldiers and tanks that followed.Attacker: Russian (2nd Belorussian Front)
