Overview:

Breaking out of Normandy, Maj. Gen. Stroh's "Pathfinders" of the 8th Infantry Division advanced quickly across the Breton coast and was the first infantry division to arrive in the Brest area, relieving the 6th Armored on 18 August. In a hasty attempt to catch Fallschirmjager-Regiment 7 off guard in late August, some of the 8th spearheads got too far ahead of their supporting elements. On the night of August 28, companies E,F, and G tried to infiltrate through German positions near Kergoas and Hill 97, but were halted early in the morning by two assault guns and a captured M4 Sherman. This panzer counter punch was beaten back, but caused considerable havoc among 2nd Battalion. They were promptly counterattacked by the always-aggressive German paratroops.
Attacker: German (Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 7, Fallschirmjäger-Division 2)
Defender: American (2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division)

2026-06-15(D) Stephen dedier vs Jason Burnette American winGermans pushed right up the middle as expected but the Americans had to spread the defense in order to discourage an attempt to push hard down one of the flanks.
Americans kept falling back and harassing but not really able to do any significant damage.
Turns 5-6 saw the Germans pushing to the last hedgerow. The Americans managed to do some damage on both flanks forcing the main German push directly into the middle.
American 6 saw the US being able to setup a strong defense in the last 2-hexes of the board and channel the Germans into a small corridor for an exit. The superior US firepower, especially with PB fire and also a number of FPF chances caused too much damage to the Germans for them to make the necessary 8VP.

2026-03-19(D) Maximiliano Estravis Barcala vs RA German winFirst scenario with bocage for the defender. The Germans entered through the middle corridor, and struggled to get halfway, but once they were in board 54, the American fallback defense couldn't keep up. The reinforcements were a breath of fresh air, and around Turns 4-5, it could have gone both ways. But the Americans took risks that they shouldn't have, and victory was conceded in German Turn 6.
