Overview:
On April 1st, 1945, the Allies launched their final offensive in Italy, first along the Adriatic coast, and along the west a week later. The attack was spearheaded by the"Gruppo di Comabttimento", Italian divisions modeled along British ones. After two weeks of fighting the Germans were in full retreat everywhere. The progress was hampered by the many rivers crisscrossing the countryside. On the 24th, "Gruppe Cremona" had to secure a bridgehead over the Po di Goro over an intact bridge.Attacker: Allied Italian (Elements of the 2ª and 3ª Battagliones, 21 Reggimento Fanteria)
