Overview:

The Italian 131st "Centauro" Armoured Division, along with 51st "Siena" Division, spearheaded an advance across the border to capture the Greek city of Ioannina. Initially the Centauro Division, equipped with small L3/35 tankettes, dominated the battlefield wherever its tanks could be brought to bear in the hilly terrain. However fuel shortages from supply lines stretched thin forced them to rely heavily on the infantrymen of the Siena Division to secure their gains. As a result the drive to Ioannina was halted just beyond the Kalamas River by the Greek 8th Infantry Division.

Pillbox and guns set up is challenging and attacking with italians over this terrain and under such murderous fire is a feat you won't try very often. played it in 2 hours.

2021-12-26(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Greek winMy Greek HMG's got some hard hits on the Italians right off the bat. Then my guns opened up and went on RoF tears. Two tanks were eliminated and more Italian squads were broken and/or eliminated. I would break one HMG on the west flank and then 6 it and this allowed the Italians to get on the pillboxes on the center level 3 hill. Dan would eliminate all three pillboxes, but the combined fire of the two Guns would create havoc on the Italians. Dan would exit two tanks for10 points, but then did not have enough remaining infantry to get the win and so conceded at the end of Turn 5 for a Greek win.
