Overview:
The Soviet 11th Guards Tank Corps was having difficulty negotiating the steep terrain at Seelow but after two days of fighting, it had finally managed to secure a good route just to the north of town. This movement completed the Soviet encirclement of Seelow. Since its position in Seelow was now untenable, the 3rd Battalion, 90th Panzergrenadier Regiment was forced to breakout to the west or face annihilation. Heavy fighting occurred throughout the German withdraw as the forward detachment of the 11th Tank Corps tried to cut the Seelow-Muchburg road. Sgt. Alexander Kibizov, commanding an SU-100 of the 1454th SU Regiment skillfully maneuvered his tank destroyer and managed to knock out at least five German tanks/self-propelled guns.Attacker: Russian (Elements of the 27th Guard Motorized Rifle Regiment, 40th Guards Tank Brigade and the 1454th SU Regiment, 11th Guards Tank Corps)
