Overview:
As the Soviet steamroller pushed on towards Budapest, each large town or village on the map now became an objective. Towns with road and rail junctions or river crossings served to focus the attention of the Russian General Staff as it tried to knock Hungary out of the war and seize their prized capital city. Kecsemet was one of these magnets. Here on the southwestern suburbs the Hungarians braced for another strong attack.Attacker: Russian (Elements 108th Guards Rifle Division)
