Overview:
As part of the diversionary attack on Choiseul Island by the 2nd Marine Parachute Battalion, LTC Krulak ordered an attack on the Japanese held village of Sangigai. At 0400, E and F Companies moved out of camp. As E Company attacked Sangigai from along the coast, F Company would envelope the village from the east. At about 1400, E Company launched their attack and the Japanese withdrew from Sangagai and into the waiting guns of F Company. Infuriated, the Japanese launched a Banzai attack on the ParaMarines.Attacker: Japanese (6th Division)
