Overview:

Nuremberg – “the most German of German cities” – would be defended by the 13th SS Corps of the First Army, and the 15,000 fanatic Nazis under General Max Simon were prepared to defend the old city “to the last bullet”. By April 15, they would get that opportunity, as the four divisions of General Hasilip’s XV Corps encircled Nuremberg and closed in for the kill. In a desperate counterstroke to the American attack, Simon committee his only armor consisting of about 35 tanks, and two battalions of infantry from the nearby Grafenwoehr training facility.

2021-08-20(A) Richard Jenulis vs Dennis Hess German winScenario one of the Verdict at Nuremberg mini-campaign. As the Americans I chose the Air Support with Napalm and the 8-1 AL in the Chaffee. The game ended on the American MPh of turn 6 when an 88 changed CA in woods and firing out of Smoke finished off an Easy-Eight. The Flyboy spent most of the game on the tarmac polishing off a carton of Camels before finally arriving on turn 6. Gust prevented early smoke. The Germans ended with nearly all their infantry eliminated. The Americans controlled one of the four Gun locations and one of the bonus buildings for a final score of 4-1 Germans.
