Overview:

With Armies Modlin and Pomorze in full retreat, the Polish High Command focused on the tactical situation in the Piortrkow sector and ordered a local counterattack to slow the German blitzkrieg. The 1st Panzer Division approached Piotrkow believing the city and road to be wide open. Two Battalions of the Polish 19th Infantry Division were waiting. . .

2023-01-10(A) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval German winUsed German balance ... this proved pivotal because Poles had 55 CVP (one more to deny Victory) in Turn 7, which allowed Germans to VERY cautiously move up to eliminate the last Crew & Green squad holding the last two buildings. FT took them out by Breaking while surrounded. I had fun, can't say as much for my down-trodden opponent.
2021-12-16(D) Jeff B vs Scott Sherer Polish win9.75 hrsThe first turn saw the Germans charge forward exclusively west and center, the only action consisting of them exposing some dummies with some lucky bounding fire. The next turn saw more Polish dummies eliminated, along with the appearance of three Polish guns. You don't often see burning wrecks in early war action, but the Poles have some nice guns and created two of them. They also destroyed an AC and immobilized a PzIB, but in the process lost their AT crew for good. Turn 3 saw the Germans grab their first two buildings, while the Polish mortar showed its face and the two Polish tanks came onboard. Turn 4 saw the Germans grab another building, but the fight in the middle was tough and they also lost two more tanks. The first half of Turn 5 saw them make a bit more headway, grabbing three more buildings, but losing two more tanks in the process. They had been running into mechanical issues the past couple turns with multiple breaking MAs, and when one of their PzIVCs broke its MA while hunting the Polish tanks things were looking shaky. Meanwhile the Poles had been rolling extremely well, with at least two of the vehicle kills coming from ATRs, and when they knocked out another two AFVs (including the one with the AL) during their half of the turn the CVP count rose to 57 ending the game. Pretty tough for the Germans, but a really fun game nonetheless.
