Overview:

"Never Give In" -- The 14eme Division d’Infanterie deployed to the south of the Aisne, and established a defensive line there, while maintaining a small bridgehead on the north side of the river at Rethel, with a view to eventually mounting a counterattack. General de Lattre didn’t hesitate in requisitioning anything he could get his hands on to bolster his positions, even putting retreating units into the line. In this way, three B1-bis tanks on their way to the 8th Tank Battalion were quite simply requisitioned. They would play a vital role in the defense of Rethel next to the troops of the 152eme Regiment d’Infanterie.
Attacker: French (1er Bataillon of 152er Régiment d'infanterie of 14er Division d'infanterie with "Téméraire", "Lunéville", and "Villers-Bretonneux" tanks of 8e BCC)

2025-10-17(D) Andy Bagley vs Matt Ellis French winVery interesting and close game. As the Germans, I foolishly put some of my units at start where the French in level 2 buildings could see them, and several were broken by good DRs. However, the French advance had to pause while they waited for their tanks to catch up with the infantry, and the battle for the bridges was then a tough struggle. The lead French tank failed an ESB DR and was immobilised on the eastern bridge, but these tanks are monsters and nothing I could do would stop them. After a heavy firefight the French advanced their infantry across the western bridge on the last turn (plus one swimming!), and my attempts to break them failed, resulting in a French win.

2025-06-11(A) Doba Serge vs Eric B. German win
2023-11-01(D) Pascal Boileau vs Julien Denis German winA nice scenario for a tense game. In the first part of the last turn, the French should win. However, it's ASL and in the second part of the last turn, the French lose the game (with some help from the dice..). Thanks to Julien for his fair play !
2023-06-08(A) Peter Palmer vs Neal Ekengren French winWARR 1940 2nd game completed.
