Overview:
The 3rd Panzer Division’s drive on Mzensk was spearheaded by Kampfgruppe Eberbach. After destroying a large force of T-34 and KV tanks, Eberbach led advance elements on the final bound which would carry them over the bridge across the Susha River and into Mzensk. Ground conditions were so bad that vehicle after vehicle became mired in mud until there was only one Panzer at the spearhead of the attack. . .Attacker: German (Elements of Kampfgruppe Eberbach, 3rd Panzer Division)
