Overview:
It was the task of the 300th Regiment, Frontier Guards (a fortress unit) to defend from the enemy the single most important non-munitions item in the Western Desert -- water. The Bardia waterworks possessed the means to pump, process and distribute a large quantity of the precious liquid.
