Overview:
The Germans tried to break through American lines one more time in a desperate attempt to enter Bastogne, already besieged for a week. This time the attack was launched on the northwestern sector where A Company of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment held the village of Champs. Soon after a fierce bombardment, bloody house-to-house fighting erupted around 4 A.M.Attacker: German (Elements of 1st Battalion, 77th Regiment, 26th Volksgrenadier Division)
