Overview:

On April 6th, the Wehrmacht erupted across the Yugoslavian borders. The Yugoslavs repeatedly performed individual acts of heroism -- attacking the panzers with grenades and Molotov cocktails -- but collectively the Yugoslavian army was outclassed and scattered. However, along the Nišava River, the wooden bridges were invariably in flames that first day when German troops reached them. Desperate for bridges to link his divided command, von Kleist formed an advance armored detachment and sent this ad hoc group ahead to seize bridges along the river. Early the next morning, after driving through the darkness, an element under the command of Major Teege reached Pirot to find the bridge there still standing. With infantry dismounted from their vehicles, he swept forward to capture it.

2026-06-07(A) Don Berg vs Solo German winUsed Yugoslavian defense from AAR online. Most squads set-up in Manor. Each of the southern woods hexes along the wall were defended. AT guns in O3 and Q1. The Germans attacked across the hill down the road and except for ht's with 1.5 squads which went north around the orchard. The Yugoslav's got off several MOL attacks but 2 resulted in the attacking squads breaking with a flame counter in their own hex. The Q1 AT missed its shot and was broken in return. The Yugo squads in the woods each broke in turn and were lost to failure to rout. A German Mk4 tank landed smoke in 7Q1 and another tank drove through it, causing the other AT gun to miss its shot and the game was soon over.
